I developed this typeface to accentuate the contrast between round and sharp edges, to illustrate the tension between the circle and the square, and to make a typeface that does cool spinny shit =].
After a friend mentioned to me that he thought this typeface, because of the round shapes and hover effects,reminded him of skateboards, I decided that would be a great theme. Hence the name Kickflip.
